Seems we got an answer to the question about Beach Chalet housing GIs during Vietnam War.

It was a mis-reading by another researcher of a web site stating the Chalet was used for 'housing soldiers' after it failed initially as a restaurant early in its career.

The researcher mistook this to mean during the Vietnam era, not realizing the Chalet had briefly housed Army troops during World War II.

But thanks for your input about the VFW era, guys! Great stuff. We all need to prepare our own oral histories.
