I do get a kick out of the days when the biggest thing around like the Internet today for newspapers was getting news by telegraph operator.

It just completely blows my mind away thinking how we have gone from telegraph operator to the Internet today. Not like a 150 year advancement but more like 1000 years.

And still, it seems like if we could have transported a good computer technician back to that time, he could have converted a telegraph to a keyboard and then added a monitor on each end. A few simple changes and they could have had a simple Internet even then.
