Market St. People

I've been trying to remember some of the colorfull Market St. regulars so characteristic of SF. At the moment I can only come up with the "Bird Whistle" man, who roamed the streets with whistles, pinwheels,various badges, etc. Also the punchy X-Pug who shadow-punched at parking meters & telephone poles. The nicest were the "little people" couple who ran the newstand for many years at Grant & Market....Anybody have any supplemental information about these, or other interesting SF "characters"?
