My mom used to take me downtown shopping with her on many occasions. I remember the little people at the newsstand. The man's name was Shorty Alberts I believe. He always said hello to me and my mom. This was in the late 50s early 60s. In the newspaper I read about them having a Shorty Albert's day in the city; I think it was when he retired.
