Yes, Rosie, I do indeed remember seeing Schlitzy out at Playland at the Beach. I don't remember the exact time frame but this was an unforgetable character. This person was, as you stated, part of a freak show. As kids, when one of our classmates got an unusually short hair cut, like a crew cut, someone would inevitably say, "Oh, I see you got a Schlitzy!" The thing that I did not remember, was whether this character was male or female.
