I remember Shaw's Ice Cream store the best. I went to West Portal Lutheran School in the late 60's early 70's and would walk up there at least once a week to get threr fabulous ice cream. They had a huge scoop for .15and their mint chip ice cream had huge half inch pieces of Andes mint in it. Also remember the Italian Restaurant - Luigi's. My grandmother and I had pasta there on special occasions. I think there was also a Deli there that sold also sorts of European candies, but I can't remember the name of it. Anybody out there also attend West Portal Lutheran from 1967-1972 contact me. Thnks for letting me share a memory!
