I remember THAT one well...I was in the Ferry Building fixing a tabulating machine in the SF Harbor Board offices.
The old building shuddered & shook, but since it did so well in the "big one," I felt reasonably safe. I realized that there was substantial damage a little later when I walked up Market St. & saw so many broken show windows. I seem to remember that one Westlake home was knocked off it's foundation?
