I remember being in the living room on 18th Avenue near Vicente when Mom was vacuuming in the hallway. I didn't hear the rumble because of the noise of the vacuum cleaner, but I noticed the tassels on the shade of the nearby floor lamp bouncing, and I excitedly called to Mom to come & see what was happening--I thought it was vacuum cleaner magic. We were off in a flash to sit in the back yard, then later, had a picnic lunch on the front lawn with all the other kids on the block--one of our regular springtime rituals on sunny days.
