(*Note from Jack Tillmany: "An eagle-eyed friend of mine informs me that one of the vintage West Portal Avenue photos currently being displayed by the local merchants shows the Portal Theatre (i.e. the Empire) showing Clara Bow in her "100% All Talking" film "The Wild Party," and the photo is dated 1927. "The Wild Party" was released in April 1929 (not 1927), and so the photo could not have been taken any earlier than May of that year.")
